What is live answering and what options do I have?
Virtual Number
If you have signed up for one of our membership plans that include a virtual phone line you will receive the designated phone number once your account has been activated. We offer virtual phone lines with local or toll-free area code phone numbers.
Live Receptionists
If you have signed up for a plan that includes a virtual phone line and live answering services, you will have a team of receptionists answering your business calls for you. Our team will take your incoming calls Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Standard time (excluding all federal holidays). The receptionists will greet your callers with your business name, and then either redirect your call or take down the caller’s information and a message which will be emailed to you.
Transfer Options
Typically virtual lines are handled and answered by our live answering receptionists, but there are other options available. You can have your calls routed directly to your own receptionists or call center. The following transfer options are available and are included in any of our memberships that include the virtual phone line and answering services.
- Transfer to reception team (calls answered by live answering receptionists)
- Transfer to an external number (calls directly rerouted to an external number of your choice)
- Transfer to voicemail (calls directly transferred to voicemail so your client may leave a voice message)
Call Handling Options
You will have three different call handling options to choose from.
- Direct Transfer (calls are answered with your business name and directly transferred to the external number you provided to us)
- Soft Transfer (calls are answered with your business name, the receptionist will obtain the caller's name, connect with you on the external number provided, inform you of who is calling and see if you are available to take the call. If so the caller will be connected with you. If you are unavailable the receptionist will reconnect with the caller, take down their information and send it to you via email.
- Take a Message (calls are answered with your business name, then the receptionist will politely let the caller know that all staff members are currently busy but that they will be contacted as soon as possible. The receptionist will then take the caller's information and send it to you via email.

Messages taken by the receptionists will include the caller's name, telephone number, time and date of the call, the reason for calling, and any other information you have requested that we capture. (all additional information you require to be captured must be requested in advance by you to your account manager.
